Maadi Sports and Yacht Club

Today we joined the Maadi Sports and Yacht Club. It took some doing. We had to be approved by the Secretary General and when they say approved it means we had to go to his office to get the o.k. A new friend said that if you are Egyptian and look like you are from a village or as she put it "too villagey" then they wont let you join. Well, after several trips we joined for 3 months. Now we can go and mingle with middle class Egyptians in a nice green park. There are many sports, such as soccer, basketball, and tennis. We can also use the ladies only pool(I thought that was cool).

The place even has its own Mosque. You can spend the whole day there and still pray in the Mosque. I think we are going to be spending alot of time there.

New Year

Happy New Year!  Today is the beginning of a new year.  Another chance to do things right.  A fresh start.  Inshallah, this year I want to learn Arabic, I want to memorize alot of Quran, I want to get fit.  

This year I want to be better in all ways. Inshallah and I hope the same for all of you.  Amen.
